What is this?

Just a peek at my current project, as work and kids have been keeping me from my crafting fun lately. You will have to wait to see what it is. Hope it looks as good in real life as it does in my head!
Looking forward to the Ekka soon, a French-themed dinner party with friends, a mega crop, 2 birthday parties and a picnic, all within the next three weekends, so it may be a while before the project is actually finished.

A beautiful new addition...

At last I have used one of my beautiful Ink & Spindle fabrics in a project. I have found it hard to start cutting into them - they are so lovely to look at and I was so worried about making a mistake! This is the one I had in mind to revamp my broken lamp (which I love dearly and will not throw away), and I think it looks just as good as I had imagined. Bliss in my own lounge room...

Easy Peasy...

Wanted to quickly share the easiest pencil roll ever! Saw it on the Lifestyle channel a couple of weeks ago, but not sure what show it was (maybe Martha?). It's made from a placemat!!
Just lay it down as though you are setting the table, fold up the bottom to a bit past half way, using a pencil as a guide to the size. Then divide into as many even spaces as possible and sew down each, tucking a long folded ribbon into one end before sewing down.
Done!
Hope all the teachers are having a great break - I am trying to cram as many school holiday activities into each weekend as I can, so not much creative going on at the moment.
P.S. "A holiday is like love - anticipated with pleasure, experienced with discomfort, and remembered with nostalgia." Anon.
